Each student at Riverside University High School (RUHS) is assigned a hallway locker to store outerwear, winter gear, and school-related materials.
Locker Rules
- Students are responsible for all items stored in their lockers.
- Lockers are school property and are subject to inspection at any time.
- All students must clean out their lockers at the end of the school year.
At that time, lockers are expected to be free of writing both inside and outside. Any writing found is considered to be vandalism, and students will be charged accordingly.
Gym Lockers
Each student will receive a MASTER combination lock from the physical education teacher. This lock must be used every time a student’s belongings are stored in a gym locker during class. If a lock is lost or malfunctioning, please contact the physical education teacher immediately. (Replacing a lost lock may cost up to $7.)
Theft Prevention
RUHS is committed to preventing and investigating theft, and our staff follows up on all reports of missing items. To reduce the chance of theft, please follow these tips:
- Do not leave any valuable items in your locker. RUHS is not responsible for any property that is lost or stolen.
- Do not share your locker with anyone. Do not give out your locker combination or allow others to see it as you are opening your locker.
- Each time you close your locker, turn the dial on the lock and check the handle to make sure it is locked.
- Label any personal belongings, including coats/jackets.
- Immediately report any locker difficulties to your administrator.
If something is lost or stolen, please visit room 215 to fill out a form describing the item(s). Be sure to check with your family insurance about coverage for items, as the school insurance does not cover the loss of personal items.
