It was announced earlier this year that Mr. Gonzalez was selected to participate in the NOAA Teacher at Sea Program.\u00a0 He will be on a boat in the Pacific Ocean helping the federal government conduct research from August 6th through the 24th.\u00a0 Here is some information about the program:\u00a0 https:\/\/www.fisheries.noaa.gov\/topic\/teacher-at-sea-program<\/a><\/p>\n

Your child’s teacher, class, or school can “adopt” the drifters that he deploys this summer by following their trajectories on the Global Drifter\u00a0Map<\/a>\u00a0and at a custom URL (examples<\/a>). The average drifter\u00a0collects and transmits data for about 18 months.<\/div>\n
