Art Therapy House Inc.
The mission of the Art Therapy House Inc., is to provide accessible art therapy services and related wellness practices by registered and licensed professionals. Services are designed to meet the specific needs of the client who may be an individual, family, group, organization, or community.
Students experience the healing benefits of art appreciation and creation during workshops and other activities that Art Therapy House brings to our school.
Brothers and Sisters in Christ Serving (B.A.S.I.C.S.)
Through prayer, youth events and more, B.A.S.I.C.S. staff provide resources and caring connections in support of Rufus King and other city schools and neighborhoods. They bring their Joy Heart program to Rufus King International Middle School. Joy Heart hosts appreciation lunches for our teachers and school-supply drives for our students.
City Year Milwaukee
City Year partners with public schools in high-poverty communities to help bridge the gap between what students need and what schools are designed to provide. In doing so, they’re helping students reach their full potential and make it to graduation in communities all across America. Rufus King International Middle School participates in City Year Milwaukee’s Network for School Improvement (NSI) program.
Generac
A leading manufacturer of power products, Generac ignites the next generation of innovators by supporting education and STEM efforts in southeastern Wisconsin and beyond. Generac invests in STEM opportunities for our students such as engineering and design research experiences at the We Energies STEM Center at MSOE.
International Baccalaureate (IB)
The IB is a global leader in international education — developing inquiring, knowledgeable, confident, and caring young people. Their programmes empower school-aged students to take ownership in their own learning and help them develop future-ready skills to make a difference and thrive in a world that changes fast. Rufus King International Middle School is an IB-authorized provider of the IB Middle Years Programme.
Junior Achievement USA
Junior Achievement USA is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. Junior Achievement’s programs in work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy ignite the spark in young people to experience and realize the opportunities and realities of work and life in the 21st century. Students participate in Junior Achievement programming through Junior Achievement of Wisconsin.
MENTOR Greater Milwaukee
MENTOR Greater Milwaukee increases mentoring relationships by building the capacity of existing mentoring organizations. They match caring adults with children in need through safe, effective mentoring programs. Sixth graders participate in a mentorship program through MENTOR Greater Milwaukee.
Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE)
MSOE is a private, non-profit university committed to fostering a higher standard of academic programming and research, and personalized service, instruction, and guidance. MSOE provides STEM opportunities to students of all ages. Rufus King students participate in engineering and design research experiences at the We Energies STEM Center at MSOE.
My Sista’s KeepHer
My Sista’s KeepHer empowers young girls and women to love themselves and each other using the art of poetry to promote positive self-expression, achievement of their dreams and the ability to live healthy, safe, and productive lives. Through discussion, sistahood, and skill-building exercises, students learn about developing self-esteem, building healthy relationships, and recognizing and regulating emotions in My Sista’s KeepHer workshops.
Riveredge Nature Center
Established in 1968 as southeastern Wisconsin’s first independent nature center, Riveredge is restoring and maintaining prairie, forest, wetland, pond, and riverbank acreage in Saukville, Wisconsin. Conservation efforts include an education program that invites students of all ages to explore its 485 acres. Rufus King students participate in field research experiences at the center, from on-site maple sugaring workshops to water testing on the Wisconsin River.
Sticky Rice
Sticky Rice is a Milwaukee restaurant that serves Lao and Thai cuisine. Sticky Rice hosts appreciation lunches for our staff and school-supply drives for our students.
Taylored4All
Taylored4All helps students ages 9 through 19 increase their literacy rate and offers self-development guidance with their G.O.A.T.S. curriculum that teaches, establishes and assists in mental wellness, social emotional learning and restorative justice practices.
Wisconsin Association of IB World Schools
The Wisconsin Association of IB World Schools exists to serve member schools across the state that are authorized providers of International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes. Schools meet monthly to discuss and advise one another on IB policy, technology, and best practices across the Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma programmes.
Wisconsin Conservatory of Music
The Wisconsin Conservatory is more than a community music school; it guides and inspires children and adults alike to find their voice, discover their desired instrument, and develop their music-making capabilities, whether you are just beginning or a seasoned professional. The conservatory’s performer-educators support our arts curriculum by providing music instruction to Rufus King students.
