About

Roosevelt Creative Arts Middle School raises the bar and sets the stage for more than 200 student-artists from sixth to eighth grade.
Student life begins with a personal welcome. New families meet with our principal to preview our arts-integrated curriculum and learn how creativity and core academics prepare students for high school.

School Hours

9:05 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.

Performance experience is not required. All sixth graders study visual art, dance, music, and theater. Seventh and eighth graders choose two art “majors,” developing powerful communication and presentation skills that benefit them for a lifetime and engage audiences today. Visit our art gallery or attend a Roosevelt dinner theater or dance concert.

Roosevelt educators are expert teachers and bridge builders, connecting the arts and academics in every subject. As part of the national Turnaround Arts network, our school benefits from learning strategies, artist residencies, and creative partnerships that embed the arts in every classroom, after-school programs, and summer workshops.

Students develop self-confidence through solo study, performance, and on Roosevelt Phantoms athletics and forensic teams. They plan and prioritize studio art projects and musical rehearsals. Through Milwaukee Public Schools Restorative Practices program, they learn to communicate and problem-solve peacefully and respectfully. Our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports framework promotes and praises attendance and academic progress.

Studies show students who are engaged in the arts are more successful in school. We invite your child to join our cast of students and experience all the advantages of an arts-integrated education. Contact Roosevelt Creative Arts Middle School to schedule your behind-the-scenes tour.
