Educators teach and mentor, but students lead. Connecting courses and service projects to their own lives and experiences is part of the journey for Rufus King’s 1,300+ students. They proudly share cuisines and customs through our school’s 60+ cultural clubs and celebrations. Through their service and scholarship, King students become powerful problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and intercultural communicators.

Our renovated auditorium is never silent. Our gymnasium is a gathering place for student-athletes and fans. Rufus King Generals wear the blue-and-gold as Milwaukee City Conference and state-level champions: basketball to soccer, boys and girls wrestling, and Special Olympics of Wisconsin.

Rufus King families are super fans and valued voices in our school. Families join our School Engagement Council and PTSO. They volunteer and cheer for our Generals during drumline competitions, theatrical and orchestral performances, and swim meets.
