Students follow the same set of IB policies in our Middle Years and Diploma programmes.<\/p>\n
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.<\/p>\n

The IB Learner Profile<\/a> lays out the skills and competencies it seeks to instill in our students. International Baccalaureate offers four programmes for students ages 3 to 19 to help develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. IB Diploma Programme<\/h2>\r\nThe IB Diploma Programme is a comprehensive two-year international college-preparatory curriculum. Students have the option of being Full Diploma candidates, or they may take selected IB courses as Certificate candidates. Successful completion of an IB course may lead to college credit and\/or advanced placement. IB Middle Years Programme<\/h2>\r\n

<\/a>The MYP is designed for students ages 11-16 years. Rufus King is authorized as an IB World School for grades six through 10 to expand its commitment to the IB\u00a0curriculum\u2019s high quality and challenging, international education at the middle school and ninth and tenth grade\u00a0levels. The MYP curriculum is displayed in the form of an octagon with the academic subjects surrounding the areas of\u00a0interaction. These areas of interaction provide a framework of learning and reflect the programme\u2019s focus on\u00a0student\u2019s intellectual and social development. Students will complete a personal project during tenth grade with one\u00a0of the areas of interaction as a focus. The MYP emphasizes three fundamental concepts: holistic learning, intercultural awareness, and communication.\u00a0Students gain knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to participate in a global society. Core subjects are connected\u00a0to the real world through the areas of interaction.\u00a0An essential feature of the MYP is that students will experience five common themes.
