Partnerships

Escuela Vieau is grateful for the commitment of our community partners.

Our school, staff and students are continuously enriched by their ongoing gifts of time, services and resources, creativity, and collaboration.

Rockwell Automation

Escuela Vieau’s primary partner, Rockwell Automation, sponsors our Project Lead The Way laboratory and other literacy, science, technology, engineering, and environmental experiences. From Rockwell engineers who mentor our students to company service days that bring Rockwell staff to Escuela Vieau for school beautification efforts, cultural celebrations, and more, this Fortune 500 company is a super partner. Rockwell’s continued support of Escuela Vieau’s STEM programs and priorities enriches the academic experience for every student here.

Arts @ Large

In addition to supporting our arts programming, Escuela Vieau students also spend time at Paliafito Eco-Arts Park, enjoying the grounds and tending the gardens through our partnership with Arts @ Large.

FIRST LEGO League

FIRST LEGO League introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts to children through exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving skills in a guided robotics program that encourages students to explore, experiment, and grow their critical thinking, coding, and design skills.

Marquette University

Students from Marquette University provide one-on-one tutoring to Vieau students. Through this program, Vieau students gain self-confidence and develop strong bonds with their tutors, leading to success in the classroom.

Reflo

Annually, Reflo works with partners including Milwaukee Public Schools, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, the City of Milwaukee, the Fund for Lake Michigan, Community Design Solutions and others to support Milwaukee-area schools in an intensive, collaborative process to design and then redevelop greener, healthier schoolyards. Escuela Vieau’s redeveloped schoolyard opened in 2018.

Each redevelopment project is tailored to the specific needs and enthusiasm of the school’s community but often involves replacing seas of asphalt with green infrastructure including bioswales, rain gardens, and trees as well as outdoor classrooms, improved recreational facilities and arts opportunities. Designs go beyond removing pavement to maximize benefits for communities, the environment, and local economy.

SHARP Literacy

Escuela Vieau enjoys a strong partnership with SHARP Literacy, which combines engaging and hands-on lessons, interactive projects, and the visual arts to create students who are curious, eager to learn, and believe they can accomplish anything.

Skylight Music Theatre

A partnership with Skylight Music Theatre allows students to participate in a play, developing their musical talent and stage presence.

UWM String Academy

Select Escuela Vieau students may take string instrument lessons via the UWM String Academy. Taught by highly qualified instructors, these students use their minds, ears, and bodies to express themselves through music, gaining valuable lessons in problem-solving, concentration, and discipline, and developing self-confidence, perseverance, and an appreciation for the joy of making music together.

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater provides pre-college summer programming opportunities for Escuela Vieau students.

Wisconsin GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergraduate Programs)

Wisconsin GEAR UP (WIGU) helps low-income, first-generation and underrepresented students develop the skills they need to succeed throughout their school experience, to graduate from high school, and find the right post-high-school educational option. WIGU also works with families to find and complete financing options for their student.

Optimist Club of Milwaukee

The Optimist Club of Milwaukee supports Escuela Vieau’s Youth of the Month program, sixth-grade Junior Optimists Club, and seventh- and eighth-grade Washington, D.C. trip.
