Get Involved at Washington High School of Information Technology
Family Engagement is a full, equal, and equitable partnership among families, educators, and community partners to promote children’s learning and development from birth through college and career. Parental involvement at Washington High School is the key to your children’s academic success that will provide them the building blocks for whatever path they choose in life.
Join the Washington High School:
PTO Members– The PTO is a partnership between families and school staff with the goal of hosting events, celebrations, and fundraisers. The group meets monthly.
Events we are hoping the PTO will sponsor this year: Fall Festival, Winter Holiday Celebration Coat Drive, 12th grade Graduation, and two family events.
District Advisory Council Members: The District Advisory Council is the perfect place for families of MPS students and community members to share their opinions. We need two delegates to attend the virtual meetings and report back during our School Engagement Council.
School Engagement Council: This is a round table discussion amongst parents, guardians, community members, students, teachers, and school leadership. Topics of the meetings vary but are centered around the school’s budget, future plans, behavioral and attendance concerns, and various other subjects presented by both staff and families. This group meets once a month for about an hour.
Helpers: We are welcoming volunteers into our schools. We need families to help out in classrooms, events, and fundraising. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact their child’s teacher or reach out to the Parent Coordinator, Von McDade, for other opportunities.
