Purgolder Saturday School Academy
Welcome to Saturday School, a unique 6 week program designed to support our gifted and Talented and struggling students. Saturday School is from 8 am to 12 pm. at Washington High School. This time is exclusively reserved for students to catch up on designated assignments and bridge the learning gaps. To participate, students must register with Parent Coordinator Von McDade. Join us at Saturday School and unlock your full potential!
Academic momentum. Students spend some time on each subject every day of the week with Saturday class. This “freshness of material” creates continuity within the subject. Both faculty and students more easily recall “where we left off.” This is a major benefit for class work.
Saturday School participation has a significant practical impact on the reading, English, and mathematics achievement of high school students helping students attain college and career readiness outcomes.
Guidelines for Saturday School:
- All students are welcome.
- All student Code of Conduct guidelines apply.
- Students should arrive by 8:00 AM with filled out (WEOP) student enrollment application.
- Saturday School ends at 12 pm. Students who remain more than ten (10) minutes after the end of Saturday School might not be allowed to attend in the future.
- A parent note must be provided if a student walks home.
- Students who are disruptive or unproductive will phone a parent or guardian to pick them up immediately.
- The student must bring ALL necessary academic materials (textbooks, paper, pencil, and a charged Chromebook).
Please reserve your spot by the Wednesday prior to the Saturday school session. Contact Parent Coordinator Von McDade for an application at 414-875-6124 or mcdadev@milwaukee.k12.wi.us.
