Cultural activities, competitions, and inclusive programming strengthen our Cardinals’ pride and encourage students to address issues facing classrooms and cities worldwide.
Middle School Activities
FIRST LEGO League
Coached by adults and supported by teammates, FIRST LEGO leaguers apply real-world math and science content and strengthen their critical-thinking, team-building, and presentation skills as they build LEGO-based robots for engineering competitions.
Forensics
Students research, write, and perform creative speeches or stories for district and state festivals and tournaments. Through forensics, students develop presentation and research skills that prepare them for lifelong participation in a democratic society. They grow as public speakers, solo performers, and teammates.
Fiserv Future Techies
Students explore finance and technology careers and learn how technology helps solve real-world problems. Students gain knowledge and build skills as they work with industry professionals in Fiserv’s Fintech community.
Future City
The question is, “How can we make the world a better place?” Students develop engineering design and project management skills through hands-on cross-curricular projects that challenge them to research, refine, and present their answers.
Girls of Color (GOC)
The GOC program creates true collaborative partnerships with school sites that demonstrate a true commitment, capacity, and structure to elevate, enhance and/or improve how they support girls of color. Future City High School
Students sharpen their communication, engineering, and project-management skills in Future City STEM competitions. They research issues affecting global society, write essays, and design a digital model showcasing sustainable solutions to real-world challenges. Future City High School culminates in a live presentation before a panel of STEM professionals.
Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA)
