Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee offers a one-to-one mentoring program that addresses the needs of children facing adversity. The program fosters and supports strong relationships between youth and caring volunteer adult mentors.

Junior Achievement USA

Junior Achievement USA is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. Hartford students experience Junior Achievement programming through Junior Achievement Wisconsin.

Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra (MSO) develops music appreciation and talent among youth through its performances and programming. The Arts in Community Education (ACE) Program brings MSO musicians, fellow artists, lesson plans, and learning materials to thousands of students and hundreds of teachers in Wisconsin.

Playworks Wisconsin

Playworks Wisconsin gives kids foundational skills for success on the playground, in the classroom, and in the community. It is a national organization that leverages play to promote healthy behaviors and increase social and emotional learning at recess and throughout the school day. More than 1,000 Wisconsin kids serve as Junior Coach student leaders on the playground by leading games and modeling positive sporting behavior for their peers.

University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee

University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (UWM) provides affordable, world-class education to 23,000 students from 86 countries. Students at Hartford enjoy campus tours and tutoring support. Students in grades six through eight participate in UWM’s Planning for the Future Program.

Urban Ecology Center (UEC)

Milwaukee’s three Urban Ecology Centers provide year-round educational programs for kids, families, and adults of all ages. The centers help make urban parks safer, enrich classroom curriculum, and provide students with the science skills they need to succeed. Hartford students visit the UEC for field experiences through UEC’s Neighborhood Environmental Education Project (NEEP).
