~Families have been tremendous supporters in the past – your generosity is immensely appreciated, Thank You!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Check slots for specific times – there are daytime and after-school hours available!

Volunteers are essential in making our book fair a great success! We need helpers to set up the fair, to supervise the Book Fair inventory during open circulation time, and also to work as sales assistants and cashiers during the Book Fair. Please take a look at the shifts available and sign up if you can do so. Your time and assistance are greatly appreciated!

The daytime supervision slots were added with the hope that the library can remain open for circulation while the Book Fair is set up. These daytime volunteers would monitor the book fair setup to ensure our inventory count is accurate at the end of the sale.

Thank you!!

MPS Referendum Will Go to Voters in April 2 Election

MPS Referendum Fact Sheet

On January 11, 2024, the Milwaukee Board of School Directors approved a plan set forth by MPS administration to place a referendum on the April 2, 2024 spring election ballot.

MPS’ plan would secure as many resources as possible for students while being mindful of taxpayers.

Read more about this important action.

~Since 2009, Wisconsin public school funding has not kept pace with inflation. For this reason, public schools across the state are facing budget challenges.

Upper Elementary Nature’s Classroom

The weeklong overnight camping trip to Nature’s Classroom is an unforgettable experience! The students are engaged in hands-on lessons in natural environments, and they do everything together; bunking in cabins, eating all meals family style, choosing classes to participate in, doing whole group activities like games and night walks, and having free time to play, or take a quiet break after all of the excitement. The hardest part of camp is having to leave on Friday!

Family Literacy Night

Over 30 families enjoyed an evening of books, crafts and community in early March. There were origami bookmarks, coloring, and book making. Milwaukee Public Library had information and books available to families. All enjoyed stories read by parents and kids, Mad Libs offered laughs and giggles. Ms. Heather displayed sandpaper letters, moveable alphabet, and grammar boxes. Thank you to all who attended!
