What is CrossFit?

What is CrossFit MPS?

CrossFit MPS is a non-profit cost-free CrossFit Affiliate dedicated solely to the students and staff of Milwaukee Public Schools. CrossFit, Inc. generously supports federal, state, and municipal entities such as the military, law enforcement agencies, fire and rescue agencies, and public colleges, universities, and schools. As a result of this support, we are able to offer CrossFit to the students and staff of Milwaukee Public Schools at no cost.

CrossFit MPS Mission

To offer a health and fitness program that uses constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity in an effort to develop increased work capacity over broad time and modal domains, and ultimately over a lifetime. And to offer this program to the students and staff of Milwaukee Public Schools for no profit and at no cost so they may use it to provide and support positive change for themselves, their families, and their community.

CrossFit MPS Vision

A community of students and staff who use their public schools as a place to help each other develop physical, mental, emotional, and social health and strength. And who take that strength and use it to support positive change wherever they are.

CrossFit MPS Coaches

Working as a physical education and health teacher and athletic director, Schenk uses CrossFit to help student-athletes, adult athletes, and those who are new to fitness reach their full athletic ability. Schenk played sports throughout high school and college and is an avid SCUBA diver and U.S. Coast Guard Certified Merchant Marine Officer.

Justin Jaeger is a special education teacher, assistant volleyball coach, and head tennis coach at MacDowell Montessori School who enjoys helping students reach their physical fitness and strength goals, and promoting CrossFit MPS as a positive environment for students’ and staff personal growth.
