MacDowell Spotlight
This week a group of Ms. Werner’s Middle School scholars participated in their last FoodRight session. Instructors guided students in proper food handling, knife skills, and food preparation. In these photos students are preparing Sicilian-Style Broccoli with Pasta and Jerk Chickpea Tacos with Pineapple Salsa. According to their website, Food Right “develops its own plant-based recipes, created to be affordable, accessible, and globally minded.” Our classroom “chefs” feel a sense of pride, accomplishment and independence after working together to create and consume the healthy recipes. For more information on FoodRight and their Young Chefs Academy visit www.foodright.org.
