MPS Referendum Will Go to Voters in April 2 Election

MPS Referendum Fact Sheet

On January 11, 2024, the Milwaukee Board of School Directors approved a plan set forth by MPS administration to place a referendum on the April 2, 2024 spring election ballot.

MPS’ plan would secure as many resources as possible for students while being mindful of taxpayers.

Read more about this important action.

~Since 2009, Wisconsin public school funding has not kept pace with inflation. For this reason, public schools across the state are facing budget challenges.

BAKE SALE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

On Tuesday, April 2, MacDowell will be a polling place for the presidential primary, the MPS referendum, city council, many county judges, the mayor of Milwaukee, and several other city and county positions.

We are expecting significant voter turnout! Let’s give those voters the opportunity to support our school by buying baked goods. Sign up via the link to donate treats and/or to sit at the table and sell goods. Feel free to send bagged cookies, brownies, rice crispy treats, and similar with your student on Tuesday morning. All bags will be sold for $1 each, this makes the math very easy for our table team.

Thanks for supporting the PTO!

Items can be brought April 1st or the morning of the election, April 2nd.

LOST AND FOUND

Our Lost and Found has grown again! HATS, GLOVES, LUNCH BOXES, HOODIES, JACKETS, T-SHIRTS. At the end of the month, and each following month, any unclaimed items in the lost and found will be donated. If your child is missing clothing, shoes, water bottles, lunch boxes- stop in the front lobby while at school for conferences and check out our lost and found table across from the main office. Items currently in the lost and found will be boxed up and donated after March 21st (Spring Break).

Label all of your child’s items, it helps us find their homes.

Spring Break Choice Board

A choice board is a simple, clickable tool that parents can use to provide their children with digital choices during break that have been vetted by our librarian! Lots of ideas to keep kids active, curious, and engaged during the spring break!
