Milwaukee Virtual School (MVS) is a state-approved charter school in Milwaukee Public Schools that offers K4 through grade 12. This program is supported by the Imagine Learning online platform.
MVS began as the Milwaukee Virtual Program (MVP) due to parent concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program began in Fall 2021, and its success and high demand led to further development. MVS received approval as a charter school from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in January, 2025. The first school year of MVS begins in Fall 2025.
Mission
The mission of Milwaukee Virtual School is to provide a rigorous curriculum; offer supports for students and learning coaches centered on best practices; and develop students academically and socially in a virtual format that prepares them for success in a technology-focused world.
Vision
Students are thriving academically, socially, and emotionally in a caring and supportive virtual learning environment. MVS supports academic skills, confidence, independence, and essential life skills for every student.
Families and students have opportunities to build community and participate in social-emotional and extracurricular activities through partnerships and virtual sessions with MVS staff in support of the learning environment.
