It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as principal of Clement J. Zablocki School. It’s an honor to lead a school with such a rich tradition of excellence in education — and a joy. Nothing feels better than watching families from all over the world come together at school events and working with our incredible staff to support 300+ students.
Support also comes from the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership, a robust partnership that is transforming schools into educational communities where everyone thrives — students, staff, families. Our partners do so much during and beyond the school day, from donating backpacks and school supplies to reading with and tutoring students. You can really feel the power of this partnership when you enter our building.
Being an educator and administrator is who I am, and Milwaukee Public Schools is part of my family’s legacy. My late grandmother, Frances Brock Starms, inspired my journey from paraprofessional to substitute teacher, teacher to assistant principal – from Wilberforce University to Cardinal Stritch University. Today, she has two schools named after her and I am beginning my second year as your Zablocki School principal.
Along with our teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established by all who preceded me, by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. We pledge to provide academic experiences for all students that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections. We will do this by focusing on district education initiatives, Common Core skills, the use of data to drive instruction, and providing consistent implementation of the curriculum so that we can continue to boost student achievement.
There are many ways that a child can learn, and even more ways to measure a child’s success. Our team is dedicated to helping your child do their best work and find their unique place within the Zablocki School community. This is why I have an open-door policy, to welcome your input and to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive and fun, nurturing and welcoming environment. Please feel free to call or email me (morgansa@milwaukee.k12.wi.us) to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year. I look forward to working with you to help each student at Zablocki meet their goals and have a successful school experience!
Best Regards,
Stephanie Morgan, Principal
