School Engagement Councils (SECs) were established in Milwaukee Public Schools in 1997. The goal of the SEC is to enable families, staff, students, and community to support and inform shared leadership in order to advance student achievement.
School Engagement Council members are volunteers who care about the whole Fernwood Montessori School community. They advise school administration and faculty on matters relating to curriculum, budgetary issues, student performance, and school climate.
The Fernwood Montessori School Engagement Council meets the last Thursday of the month from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
2025-26 meetings dates: 9/25, 10/30, 11/20, 1/29 (in person at Fernwood), 2/26, 3/26, 4/23 (and 5/28 in the event that a make up day is needed)
