About

Milwaukee’s youngest students grow to love learning during their K3, K4, and K5 years at Starms Early Childhood Center.

A Starms class is small: 18 students per room. A Starms teacher is innovative: integrating movement, art, song, and technology into a day’s lesson plan. A Starms student achieves early-learning milestones like number and letter recognition, printing, and rhyming. The Starms’ faculty is supportive. Speech-language specialists help students find their voice while they work on letter recognition and reading comprehension. Our staff includes art, gym, and music specialists who teach students to recharge their busy brains through movement and creativity.

School Hours

9:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

New-and-improved features at Starms Early Childhood Center deepen students’ connection to the natural world and to each other: a Great Lakes-themed playground, outdoor classrooms, raised-bed gardens, and rainwater receptacles. Students learn about community and responsibility during playtime, classroom cleanup, and on field trips.

Parents volunteer at school events, on committees, and in the classroom as valued members of the Starms community. Family participation contributes to academic achievement in the early grades and helps students make a successful transition to our sister school, Starms Discovery Learning Center, for first through eighth grades.
