Dear Starms Parent/Guardian:
I am excited for the start of the 2024-2025 school year. This year we will continue the Frances Brock Starms tradition of strong academic growth and community building. We have an excellent staff who are committed to your child’s success.
This year our focus will be on:
- Our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) systems
- Ensuring our attendance is over 95%
- Increasing reading and math academic achievement
You can help us with our focus by talking with your child about our PBIS system (more information about this is in the Starms Centers Family-School Manual. Additionally, high attendance is the key to academic achievement. When students attend school every day—they learn! You can help by ensuring your child goes to bed early and minimize electronic usage before bed.
Finally, we know that as a parent, you are your child’s first and most important teacher. We will be sharing your child’s academic progress throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you at our Open House, Parent-Teacher Conferences and other school events. At home, students should be reading a minimum of 15 minutes per night, doing homework when sent home by the teacher and utilizing the online learning resources (go to the MPS homepage and go to Students tab/Student Toolbox).
The Frances Starms Centers Staff and I look forward to working with you this school year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Best,
Regina Navejar, Principal
