Parents and guardians are valuable members of the H.W. Longfellow School community, and we want to hear from you.
The Longfellow School Family Leadership Organization (FLO) meets regularly for family members to discuss school issues and successes. Family members lead the meetings, so family voices are included in school decisions. Meetings are 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. the fourth Wednesday of every month in our Family Resource Center.
Why should you go to FLO?
Supporting your student’s learning at home – by reading, providing a quiet place to study, checking backpacks every day – positively affects their performance in school. Your participation in discussions and decision-making about our school community is just as important. Longfellow’s family-focused culture lifts every student.
Inviting community members to FLO meetings and school events is part of our mission as a Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership School. Community partners bring tutors into our school, provide recreational opportunities for students and families, and host on-site health and dental clinics.
FLO meetings are your family’s opportunity to learn about school projects, priorities, and partnerships, and to contribute new ideas about supporting every child at H.W. Longfellow School.
