Bike, Scoot, Stroll to School & a Community Meeting! 5/3

5/3W  Bike & Walk to School Day  A brief meeting will be held at 7:45am on the Prospect side of the building. There will be short presentation to update the community on some traffic safety solutions proposed for the area immediately south of our school campus and how our community can support these proposals. BIKE TRAIN DETAILS BELOW!  

DRIVERS: with more folks biking, scooting and walking near the school PLEASE SLOW DOWN!

BICYCLISTS: you are expected to disembark and walk your bike when on school grounds during arrival and dismissals. It is UNSAFE for kids (and adults) to speed through pedestrian sidewalk traffic.

National Bike, Roll and Walk to school is Wednesday, May 3rd!

It’s been a tradition for MAM to join our classmates, friends, and neighbors to meet up and “bike train” to school together from a few designated areas. This is totally voluntary as we know families have different schedules and modes of transportation to our school every day. Here are a few meet ups and times for you to join in on by bike, scooter, and on foot! Don’t forget to wear a helmet and bring a lock for your bike if needed. There are a number of bike racks around the school available for you to lock your bike to!UWM neighborhood:                Meet MAM parents Tory Kress and Meagan Schultz at the corner of Prospect and Kenwood at approximately 7:05 and depart for school at 7:10am.Urban Ecology Center, Riverside Park:
Meet MAM parent Daniel Narvey on the Oak Leaf Trail, by the picnic tables at the base of the observation tower. Meet at 7:05, depart for MAM at 7:10.
Water Tower neighborhood:                Meet MAM parents Stefan Schnitzer, Lise Sadagopan and Sarah Hambrook at the Little Free Library at Bay Bay Park to depart for school at 7:10am.
Downer Ave/ Lake Drive neighborhood:                Meet MAM parents Vesla Hoeschen and Deb Holton at Starbucks corner around 7:05 and depart for school at 7:10am.“Members from the MAM fund will be on hand to greet riders as they come into school with a smiles and some cut fruit for those that need a little energy boost after their bike/ walk in!”**If you would like to organize a bike/ walk train from your neighborhood, announce it and give meeting place and departure time on the MAM Community facebook page.Please be sure to practice safe biking and walking behavior! Watch for vehicles and pedestrians, obey traffic laws and signage, and be respectful of the neighbors around you. Most importantly, have fun!
