Families are the literal foundation of Milwaukee French Immersion School.
In 2012, student and alumni parents founded the Milwaukee French Immersion Foundation to provide enriching academic opportunities for our students and be a bridge between Milwaukee French Immersion School and Milwaukee School of Languages.
Many Milwaukee French Immersion School (MFIS) alumni continue their French-language studies in middle- and high-school programs at Milwaukee School of Languages (MSL). Some students even learn a third language before they graduate from high school.
The Foundation’s efforts bring teaching talent, language programs, and advanced learning opportunities to students from K4 to twelfth grade, including:
- Fund-raising, recruitment, and placement of 100+ Amity Teaching interns in MFIS and MSL classrooms since 2012.
- Hosting an online auction in support of MFIS and MSL.
- Supporting Milwaukee French Immersion School’s 45th anniversary and other celebrations.

Our mission is to support French language programs at Milwaukee French Immersion School and Milwaukee School of Languages.
Our purpose is to support a challenging and enriching educational experience that maximizes the learning potential of every student by:
- Enhancing education through cultural exchange by bringing French-speaking interns to work at both schools
- Reinforcing community and bridging gaps between the two schools
- Collaborating with Alliance Française and other community groups
- Engaging in fundraising activities to help fund our activities
Our vision is one of a vibrant, bilingual, culturally aware community of students with an expansive world view.
