To improve student behavior and thus learning, Doerfler Elementary School uses the positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) approach.

Monthly school-wide assemblies and classroom “cool tools,” or behavior lessons, help teach our students appropriate behavior and remind them of school expectations.

We reinforce good behavior through incentives, including points students can earn to spend at The Hawk Store and participation in special monthly events and activities such as movies, games, and field trips. We also encourage school-wide camaraderie in events such as the school carnival.
