Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership

Hopkins Lloyd Community School is proud to be a member of the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership (MCSP). Through MCSP, our students, families, teachers, staff, neighbors, and partners come together to form a strategy that best meets the needs of our students.

The MCSP is made up of three key partners with the core values of shared leadership, equity, and cultural relevance:

  • United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County

Specialized support for MPS schools in the 53206 ZIP code enhances academics and student well-being.

Amani’s World

Structured childcare and fun activities for ages 3–9 promote literacy, creativity, and self-worth.

Ampact Reading Corps

Volunteer tutors work one on one with students who need extra help with reading.

Arts @ Large

Students express themselves through hands-on projects and performing arts.

Children’s Wisconsin Project Ujima

Project Ujima works with young victims of violence. Morning circles in 4th – and 5th-grade classrooms help students talk about concerns, share stories, and build meaningful relationships among students and teachers.

COA Youth & Family Centers

Safe after-school program provides homework help and fun activities.

FAST (Families & Schools Together)

FAST supports and empowers families, guides school staff, and promotes well-being for students and staff to help create a welcoming environment.

Hephatha Lutheran Church

The church offers students and families a performance space, access to Project Return, and access to Strong Baby Sanctuary. It provides staffing and supplies for the school’s Parent Resource Center.

Hunger Task Force

Fresh food, backpacks, school supplies, and more are supplied at no cost.

Junior Achievement of Wisconsin

Student programs aim to develop leaders, explore careers, teach money management, and promote life skills.

Marquette University Peace Works

Children learn to identify and resolve conflict in a positive way.

Milwaukee School of Engineering

Children explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through robotics, coding, artificial intelligence, 3-D printing, and digital design.

MPD District 5

Community liaison officers enhance safety and build relationships with students. Officers share career experiences, act as mentors, and encourage children to make positive choices.

Safe and Sound

The group provides students with hygiene bags and boys with free haircuts. It holds Coffee with a Cop at neighboring business Coffee Makes You Black, which our staff members regularly attend.

United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County

A lead partner in the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership, United Way provides free dental and vision care, clothing and school supplies, and more.

Walnut Way Conservation Corp

Walnut Way Conservation Corp is Hopkins Lloyd Community School’s partner organization through the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership. A resident-led organization in Milwaukee’s Lindsay Heights neighborhood, Walnut Way prioritizes reading books in classrooms, providing one-on-one tutoring, and fostering relationships between teachers and students to support literacy.
