Ampact Reading Corps
Volunteer tutors work one-on-one with students who need extra help with reading.
Community Advocates
Community Advocates provides individuals and families with advocacy and services to meet their basic needs. At Hopkins Lloyd, they offer resources for our families regarding addiction and housing. They also serve on our School Engagement Council.
Hephatha Lutheran Church
The church offers students and families a performance space, access to Project Return, and access to Strong Baby Sanctuary. It provides staffing and supplies for our Parent Resource Center.
Junior Achievement USA
Junior Achievement USA is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. Hopkins Lloyd students experience Junior Achievement programming through Junior Achievement Wisconsin.
Milwaukee Inner-City Congregations Allied for Hope (MICAH)
MICAH unites congregations to act together in pursuit of justice. Their partnership at Hopkins Lloyd helps expand and develop community services that keep our neighborhoods safe and our youth engaged in safe activities.
Milwaukee Police Department
Community liaison officers from Milwaukee Police Department’s District Five station enhance safety and build relationships with students. Officers share career experiences, act as mentors, and encourage children to make positive choices.
MPS 53206 Initiative
The MPS 53206 Initiative was designed to increase academic achievement for students in the 53206 ZIP code by providing specialized support. This initiative focuses on improving instruction, student well-being, family engagement, and more. School communities collaborate to share best practices, and supports have been put into place to make sure that all students succeed. To address the number of students who experience trauma that interferes with learning, each 53206 school has a Trauma Support Specialist on staff.
Running Rebels Community Organization
Running Rebels Community Organization guides Milwaukee youth into adulthood through mentoring, positive programming, and community connection. Our partnership connects us with other agencies that provide volunteers and services to support our family engagement events. They also connect our students with North Division student mentors.
STRYV365
Milwaukee Recreation and STRYV365 partner to provide after-school enrichment at Hopkins Lloyd Community School’s Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center. STRYV365 is an award-winning, nonprofit organization that creates customized, non-clinical, trauma-informed programming. Their programs and activities are designed to foster positive childhood relationships, strengthen social and emotional wellness, and improve interpersonal skills and resiliency.
The Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center at Hopkins Lloyd provides K4 through fifth-grade students with a healthy snack or light dinner and supervised, structured academic enrichment opportunities that reinforce what students learn during the school day.
United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County
United Way provides free dental and vision care, clothing, school supplies, and more.
Walnut Way Conservation Corp
A resident-led organization in Milwaukee’s Lindsay Heights neighborhood, Walnut Way prioritizes reading books in classrooms, providing one-on-one tutoring, and fostering relationships between teachers and students to support literacy.
